The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pomar de Limas arrived in 2004 from Natura's Águas collection. The perfumer Joachim Correl anchored the fragrance in citrus and florals, then layered in enough woody structure to keep it grounded. Correl built the composition around a clear image, letting grapefruit and bergamot frame the lime at the top while a base of guaiac and cedar holds the whole thing upright. The opening is sharp and immediate, a burst of citrus zest and slightly bitter peel that reads as freshly cut rather than candied. The grapefruit adds a pulpy sweetness beside the lime's sharper edge, while the bergamot rounds the entry with a soft, almost tea-like quality.
What makes Pomar de Limas worth noticing is the balance Correl struck between two competing ideas. The top half wants to fly, all grapefruit and lime and orange blossom with a sharp flick of black pepper. The base wants to root, pulling in guaiac wood, amyris, vetiver, and patchouli to give the composition its quiet architecture. Here, the iris and benzoin in the heart do the bridging work. They keep the florals grounded while letting the wood underneath stay soft enough that the lime never gets buried.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are pure electricity. Grapefruit and bergamot hit first, sharp and almost carbonated, then lime folds through with a juiciness that feels more like the fruit in your hand than anything abstract. Black pepper sits just under the surface, giving the citrus a quiet edge that prevents it from reading as a simple shower-fresh scent. Orange blossom and lavender add a soapy, herbal lift that makes the opening feel clean without feeling clinical. Around the thirty-minute mark, the florals start to take over. Jasmine and geranium come forward with a soft, slightly green sweetness. Iris arrives quietly, powdering the composition just enough to keep it from going sharp. Benzoin adds a faint warmth, like the first trace of something resinous. This is the phase that surprises people. It doesn't read as a single-fruit cologne anymore. It reads as skin. By hour two, the woody base has fully arrived. Guaiac wood and cedar dominate, with amyris adding a creamy smoothness that softens the cedar's sharper edges.
Cultural impact
Pomar de Limas sits within Natura's Águas collection. This composition reads less as a formal fragrance and more as a sensory shorthand for warmth and ease, the kind of scent that belongs to summer afternoons rather than boardrooms. The citrus-led structure gives it an immediately recognizable character, one that feels suited to casual settings and warm weather, and the soft woody base keeps it from feeling fleeting or disposable. On skin, the opening hits with that crisp burst of lime and grapefruit, edged with a little black pepper for sparkle, before the floral heart softens everything into a cleaner, slightly creamy middle.
