Brazilian festivals run hot and communal, late nights, shared space, the kind of collective joy that fills a beach arena. Conexão de Humor (Connection of Mood) was built around that energy. Not the opening rush, but the moment the crowd finds the same rhythm. Natura's Humor line has always spoken this language: scent as shared feeling, not solo statement. For this 2024 release, perfumer Verônica Kato focused on two notes, Coconut and Pineapple, and let them anchor a fragrance that translates festival energy into something you can wear on a Tuesday. The name says it. A connection of humor. An agreement arrived at without words.

The tropical emphasis sets this apart from Natura's typical balance of Amazonian botanicals and European base notes. Here, the forest takes a back seat to the coast, coconut cream over fig and jasmine, with a sweet fruity medley that reads summery rather than wild. The priprioca note (a sedge native to the Amazon basin, with a clean herbal character) grounds the sweetness in something distinctly Brazilian. It's that ingredient, polarizing, unusual outside the country, that gives Conexão de Humor its sense of place. Not a generic tropical. Something born from a specific botanical geography.

The opening minute announces everything. Pineapple, coconut, and watermelon arrive simultaneously, a trifecta of tropical sweetness that hits immediately. Citruses (lemon, orange) and honey pomelo add lift, while black pepper and cardamom keep the sweetness from flattening into sunscreen. Around 20 minutes in, the coconut settles. Cream now, not husk. Florals start to surface, gardenia, jasmine, but they stay soft, buried in the cream rather than performing above it. A hint of Provençal lavender adds an aromatic edge, that slight vegetal quality that prevents the heart from going entirely sweet. By hour two, the base takes over. Cedar and sandalwood arrive quietly, settling the coconut into something warm and close. Amber and benzoin add resinous depth. Vanilla appears last, a soft sweetness that keeps the drydown comfortable rather than sharp.

Conexão de Humor stands out in the tropical fragrance landscape through its use of priprioca, a Brazilian sedge with a clean, herbaceous character. This distinctive note gives it an edge that tropical fragrances rarely claim. The warmth in its drydown allows it to move beyond the expected seasonal boundaries, working comfortably into cooler months.
