The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Natura crafted Una Senses in 2018 with a team of three perfumers: Verônica Kato, Yves Cassar, and Pascal Gaurin. The Brazilian house drew on its botanical heritage to create a fragrance that reflects the country's abundant plant life. Their question was simple yet ambitious: what happens when tropical brightness meets full-bodied white florals? The answer lives in the contrast between tart fruit and lush petals, using blackcurrant and mandarin orange for an energetic opening that shifts into jasmine and tuberose for a bold floral heart.
The note architecture reflects a philosophy of contrast. Tart blackcurrant and sweet mandarin orange create an opening that feels both vibrant and approachable. The floral heart builds on this energy, using jasmine and tuberose to deliver tropical richness rather than delicate subtlety. The base anchors the fragrance with woody warmth from cedarwood and sandalwood, smooth tonka bean sweetness, and clean musk, ensuring the overall effect feels grounded and natural rather than synthetic or overwhelming.
The evolution
The fragrance unfolds in clear chapters. Blackcurrant and mandarin orange arrive together, with the former providing a tart, winelike quality that gives Una Senses immediate character. The citrus element keeps things bright and prevents sweetness from building too fast. Within minutes the florals take over, jasmine lending creamy indolic depth while tuberose adds lush tropical weight. This is a heart that does not whisper. The drydown marks the final chapter as amber and sandalwood provide warmth and creaminess, cedarwood adds structure, tonka bean contributes sweet vanillic warmth, and musk keeps everything close to the skin.
Cultural impact
Una Senses has built a loyal following among those who appreciate a fragrance with real presence and longevity. The scent projects strongly and lasts well beyond the first hour, making it particularly suited for evening occasions and cooler seasons when wearers want something that holds its ground. It fills a niche for those seeking a floral composition that refuses to disappear after a brief appearance, offering instead a steady, confident presence that lingers pleasantly throughout an evening.
