Island arrives in 2024 as a deliberate pivot, a fragrance that carries the house's understanding of warmth and depth while reaching toward sun-drenched tropical territories. The perfumer chose to open with pineapple and iris, a pairing that marries fruit brightness with powdery sophistication, setting an unexpected tone for a brand rooted in resinous opulence.
The note selection reflects a philosophy of balance. Tropical sweetness, represented by pineapple and coconut, risks cloying without contrast, so the perfumer introduced iris and cypress in the opening to add sophistication, while ginger provides necessary spice.
