The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Fruit Ride is a 2025 release from Perito Moreno, composed by Nitish Dixit, that reads as an attar shaped by an orchard walk. The inspiration draws on the experience of moving through a lush orchard, with a fruit concentrate top note that captures the feeling of changing light and shifting air among ripe fruit and greenery. The composition itself leans into the orchard palette, layering real fruit notes with spice and resin to recreate that sense of abundance without slipping into anything synthetic or candy-like.
What separates this from a standard fruity amber is the way Dixit loads the heart with contradictions. Pumpkin sits beside jasmine. Clove and cumin pull in different directions, one sweet, one savory. The fruit top isn't decoration either. Pineapple reads alongside pink pepper, raspberry, peach, and strawberry, a dense fruit opening that feels ripe rather than candied. Pumpkin and jasmine hold the middle ground, giving the spice something softer to catch against, while the whole composition keeps a gourmand warmth without ever tipping into pastry territory.
The evolution
The opening brings pink pepper and pineapple forward almost immediately, with raspberry, peach, and a sticky strawberry sweetness crowding in underneath. Black cardamom joins the fruit early, adding a smoky edge that keeps the sweetness from becoming flat. The spices build as the composition settles, clove and cumin stacking into a warm, savory layer that pushes the fruit into a supporting role. Jasmine sambac threads quietly through the heart, never lifting into full floral mode, just enough to soften the spice. Tolu balsam and Peru balsam gather everything into a low amber glow, with tonka bean sweetening the oud without smoothing it out, and sandalwood holding the shape underneath. Hina and musk settle close to the skin, leaving a warm, slightly smoky sweetness on fabric and a resinous trail that keeps returning in waves long after the first impression has passed.
Cultural impact
Fruit Ride fits into Perito Moreno's current direction of attar-style compositions, joining recent releases like Elite, Regal Silhouette, Meditation Swipe, and Meditation Attar in a catalog built around dense, layered formulations. The house has built its identity around compositions that pair fruit and spice with resinous bases, a direction that shows up consistently across recent output. Fruit Ride continues that thread, treating the attar format as a space for concentrated, almost edible profiles rather than light or transparent ones.
