The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Embrace Her arrived in 2010 with a simple ambition: to smell like the beginning of something. Evelyne Boulanger built it around red berries and soft florals, layering raspberry and blackcurrant against rose and violet. The name says it all, this is a fragrance about reaching for someone. Not drama. Not distance. Just warmth that travels.
What makes the composition interesting is how the sweetness never fully resolves into something darker. The sugar and vanilla in the base stay woven through the drydown, keeping everything in the same register from first spray to last hour. Cedar and sandalwood appear in the pyramid but they don't announce themselves, they're there to keep the florals grounded, to make sure the powdery softness has somewhere to rest. It's a fragrance that knows what it is and never tries to be anything else.
The evolution
The opening hits fast: raspberry and blackcurrant bursting bright against mandarin and bergamot. Synthetic in the best way, glossy, immediate, confident. Within minutes the florals arrive, rose and violet softening everything into powder. The berry sweetness retreats but doesn't vanish. By hour two the drydown arrives: vanilla cream, sweet almond, a whisper of heliotrope. The sugar note amplifies as the fruits fade, giving the base a confectionery warmth that lingers close to skin. Cedar and sandalwood appear in the pyramid but they stay quiet, structure without announcement. Hours later what remains is powder and musk, intimate and soft. The evolution isn't dramatic. It's the story of a hug: the squeeze, the warmth, the slow release.
Cultural impact
Embrace Her opens with a bright burst of fresh fruit, a sparkling blend of citrus and tropical accents that instantly lifts the mood. The heart reveals a soft floral bouquet, where delicate rose petals intertwine with a hint of jasmine, adding a creamy, romantic depth. As the scent settles, a warm mix of sandalwood and vanilla emerges, grounding the fragrance with a comforting, lingering trail. The composition unfolds smoothly on the skin, evolving from a lively, sparkling start to a velvety, intimate dry down that stays close to the body for hours.
