The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Fizzy Mineral arrived in 2025 as part of Richard Maison de Parfum's Minerals Collection, a line built around the textures and temperatures of the earth itself. Rather than chasing warmth or sweetness, this release chases a colder kind of chemistry, the sensation of mineral-rich water meeting skin and slowly warming into something softer. The opening crackles with a sharp, effervescent quality, almost like carbonation caught mid-burst, before settling into cooler, stony notes that recall wet slate and the clean chill of a deep spring. As the hours pass, an amberwood undertow pulls the composition downward, adding a quiet smolder beneath all that surface brightness.
What makes Fizzy Mineral interesting isn't the mineral note itself, it's how it sits inside a structure that also includes ozonic and aquatic layers alongside warm amber and sage. That tension between cold, airy brightness and grounded, slightly smoky depth is where the composition does its work. Cashmeran in the base adds a fuzzy, skin-like warmth that keeps the colder elements from feeling sterile, while black pepper and cyclamen keep the opening sharp and unpredictable.
The evolution
Fizzy Mineral opens with a bright burst of bergamot and crisp citruses, lifted by cool cyclamen and a whisper of jasmine. As the minutes pass, black pepper and a salty aquatic current settle into a floral heart that feels both airy and grounded. The drydown reveals warm amberwood, cashmeran, and a clean mineral edge that lingers close to skin for hours. Hours later, that stony shimmer returns between the citrus and floral layers, keeping the composition alert and unmistakably its own quiet signature.
Cultural impact
Fizzy Mineral reads as a contemplative take on mineral-themed perfumery, layering enough amberwood and sage to stay grounded without veering into heavier territory. The opening is bright and crackling, almost effervescent, recalling sparkling water poured over cool stone, and that initial fizz lingers longer than you'd expect before the warmer notes begin their slow ascent. The sage here behaves more like dry, sun-warmed brush than a culinary herb, giving the heart of the fragrance an airy, almost papyrus-like texture that keeps everything lifted.
