The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Homem Nitro was composed by Marion Costero and Verônica Kato. The brief was to build masculine warmth using cedar and botanicals, then wrap it in something that felt worn and comfortable. The perfumers chose lavender and cardamom to open cool before turning warm, a contrast that creates an initial impression and then softens. The composition moves from crisp, herbal notes into something richer, the lavender providing clarity while the cardamom adds a subtle spice that grounds the opening and deepens the experience as it settles.
The cashmir wood does quiet work throughout, a soft, almost imperceptible note that keeps the composition from becoming too sharp or too sweet. But the real architecture belongs to the base. Tonka bean and amber don't just finish the fragrance. They take over, becoming the dominant character as the scent develops. The warm, powdery quality of the tonka bean blends with the amber to create something that feels both intimate and expansive, adding body and presence to the overall composition.
The evolution
The opening hits first, bright, aromatic, cool. Lavender and bergamot make an immediate impression before the cardamom arrives to warm the edges. Then the hand-off. Nutmeg and cedar take over the heart, building warmth that starts to feel less like scent and more like atmosphere. The drydown brings the tonka bean forward with its powdery, sweet character, almost plush in its feel. The tonka bean amplifies the amber until it coats skin rather than simply sitting on it. Musk underneath keeps everything intimate. The fragrance transitions smoothly from crisp top notes through a warm heart into a lingering base that wraps around the wearer, creating a cohesive arc from start to finish.
Cultural impact
Homem Nitro features warm, powdery character centered on tonka and cedar. Natura worked with perfumers Marion Costero and Verônica Kato on the composition, bringing their vision to life through carefully selected ingredients. The scent's profile offers a different approach compared to more aggressive masculine fragrances, emphasizing warmth and softness instead of intensity. The powdery quality comes through clearly in the drydown, where the tonka bean and amber create a lingering warmth that settles close to the skin.
