The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
02 Rabbit Hole arrives from Concreted, where the first release, Muted Waves, opened outward toward the open air and the horizon. Rabbit Hole does the opposite. It goes green and vegetal, a deliberate turn downward, into the herbal register of a city park rather than the coastline. The second numeric release, it sits within a numbered series that catalogues specific urban moments, naming the destination rather than the street. Green from the first breath, Rabbit Hole reads less like a perfume designed to impress across a room and more like one meant to be noticed only by someone standing close enough to matter. Concreted's approach treats each release as a precise coordinate in a larger map, and 02 marks the spot where the grass takes over from the sea air.
The composition leans on clary sage and carrot seed in the heart, an unusual pairing that gives the fragrance its particular gravity. Carrot seed brings a dry, slightly sweet earthiness, grounding the blend in something rooted and warm rather than fleeting. Clary sage adds the herbal, slightly musky lift that keeps the green from collapsing into something flat or one-dimensional. Together with galbanum, they create a green structure that feels grown rather than sprayed, like brushing past a hedgerow on a damp afternoon.
The evolution
The first twenty minutes are loud citrus and green, orange and bergamot hitting fast, clary sage cutting underneath. It smells like the top of a farmers' market on a Saturday morning, bright, slightly herbal, almost medicinal in its clarity. Around the thirty-minute mark, the carrot seed arrives and changes the temperature. The green goes from sharp to soft, almost powdery, as neroli and orange blossom bring a creamy sweetness beneath the herbs. By hour two, the composition has settled into a quiet, mossy drydown. Oakmoss and vetiver do the work here, earthy and grounded, the citrus almost gone but still faintly present in the back. The scent stays close to skin, a moderate projection that prefers intimacy over announcement, and wears long enough to move through an entire day without losing its shape.
Cultural impact
02 Rabbit Hole arrives at a moment when green fragrances are enjoying a quiet resurgence, moving away from the loud, synthetic openings that once defined the category. Wearers describe it as the scent of someone who chooses the long walk over the shortcut, a composition that rewards attention rather than demanding it. The carrot seed and clary sage pairing marks it as something deliberately outside the mainstream green citrus playbook, leaning into herbal weight rather than sparkling top notes.
