Heritage
A house, in its own words
Concreted announced its founding in early 2024 through a series of social‑media posts that highlighted a collaborative studio space in the Hongdae district of Seoul. The founders, whose identities are not publicly disclosed, described the venture as a response to the growing appetite for locally produced, concept‑driven fragrances in South Korea. The first public release, Muted Waves, arrived in the autumn of 2024 and was presented alongside a modest pop‑up installation that featured concrete‑finished walls, reinforcing the brand’s name and aesthetic. In 2025 the house followed up with Oasis Slip and A Thousand Miles, both of which were accompanied by limited‑edition packaging designed by emerging Korean graphic artists. That same year, Concreted introduced its first discovery set, a curated trio of scents meant to showcase the breadth of its olfactory palette. 2026 saw the launch of three new compositions—Omija, Cinnamon Punch, and a second iteration of Rabbit Hole—each exploring unconventional ingredient pairings such as fermented berries and toasted spices. Throughout its brief history, Concreted has participated in Seoul’s annual Design Week, presenting installations that merge scent diffusion with architectural elements, a practice that underscores the brand’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. While the house does not yet operate standalone boutiques, its fragrances are stocked in select concept stores across Seoul and are available for direct purchase through its official website. The brand’s trajectory reflects a broader movement within Korean perfumery, where small‑scale houses prioritize artistic experimentation over mass distribution, positioning themselves as cultural contributors rather than commercial powerhouses. Concreted frames fragrance as a tactile extension of the urban environment. The brand’s creative brief emphasizes the translation of concrete textures—walls, sidewalks, rain‑slicked streets—into scent structures that can be experienced on the skin. Each composition is conceived as a snapshot of a specific moment, whether it is the quiet hush of a late‑night subway platform (Rabbit Hole) or the bright, fleeting aroma of a street‑side cinnamon cart (Cinnamon Punch). The house values transparency in ingredient sourcing, favoring locally harvested botanicals when possible and disclosing the proportion of synthetics versus naturals in each formula. Sustainability informs its packaging decisions: bottles are molded from recycled glass, and the accompanying boxes are printed on FSC‑certified paper using soy‑based inks. Concreted also adopts a limited‑run model, releasing each fragrance in a single batch of 2,000 units before moving on to the next concept. This approach reduces overproduction and encourages consumers to engage with each scent as a collectible artifact rather than a disposable commodity. The brand’s editorial voice, as reflected in its social channels, avoids hyperbole, instead offering concise descriptions that focus on sensory impressions and the context that inspired each creation.
