Cerruti Image arrived in 1998, created by perfumer Ursula Wandel. The composition was built around green fig, cypress, and guaiac wood, then anchored in cedar, sandalwood, and vetiver for a woody base that felt modern without chasing trends. What makes Image stand out is the pear and banana leaf. That combination sits outside the expected, tropical green, almost fruit-adjacent, but grounded by the woody structure underneath. Wandel went for something unexpected, creating a fragrance with an opening that pulls from different directions, green and fruity without falling into familiar patterns. The fig and cypress provide an herbal quality that balances the sweeter top notes, while the guaiac wood adds a subtle smokiness that rounds everything out.
