The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
In 2012, Louise Turner and Natalie Gracia-Cetto created Love Purse Spray, a refillable 10 ml format of the original Love, which first appeared in 2010. The idea was simple: why should a woman leave her signature scent at home? The red-gold flacon glittered like a piece of jewelry, the neck strung with a golden chain. You could clip it to a handbag, loop it on a wrist. The same powdery floral composition, pink pepper, orange blossom, iris, lilac, rice powder, musk, now traveling with you. March 2012. Three vials in one box. A fragrance that finally understood women live in the world, not just in front of mirrors.
What makes Love Purse Spray interesting isn't the note list, it's the rice powder base. Rice powder is what talcum powder aspires to be: clean, soft, barely there. It gives the drydown a skin-like quality rather than a sweet one. Iris adds a violet-powdery dimension that deepens the effect. Heliotrope rounds it with something faintly almond and warm. The result is a fragrance that smells like the memory of a smell, intimate, clean, worn-in. Not many modern florals commit this hard to closeness over sillage.
The evolution
The opening announces itself quickly, pink pepper and orange blossom create a bright, citrus-floral spark. Then the florals take over. Iris, lilac, wisteria, not heady florals, but powdery ones. Dewy, close-to-skin florals. This is the longest phase, something that smells like the inside of a wardrobe where silk blouses live. The drydown arrives quietly. Rice powder and musk blend into the skin's warmth. No dramatic amber, no vanillic swell. Just a soft, clean trace that stays intimate.
Cultural impact
Love Purse Spray arrived in March 2012 as a limited-edition flanker to the original 2010 Love, same composition, new format. The 3x10 ml packaging made it a gift item as much as a personal fragrance. Its powdery-floral character carries a particular charm, with the soft interplay of pink pepper and orange blossom at the top, the gentle Iris and lilac at the heart, and the clean rice powder and musk base anchoring everything together. This is a fragrance that whispers rather than shouts, designed for moments when you want something present but never intrusive, a signature that travels with you throughout the day.
