The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Nomade Absolu emerged as Chloe sought to address a specific woman, one who navigates the world with autonomy and an effortless sense of style. The house had already established its visual vocabulary, the pleated bottle and hand-tied ribbon recognizable across collections, so the challenge was to extend that identity into a fragrance that matched the wearer's evolving character. Perfumer Quentin Bisch was tasked with building on the 2019 Atelier des Fleurs foundation while pushing toward something richer and more insistent, a scent that felt both contemporary and firmly rooted in the house's heritage.
The choice of plum as the sole opening note reflects a philosophy of restraint, allowing a single ingredient to make a strong impression rather than diluting attention across multiple facets. Oakmoss carries the legacy of chypre fragrances, grounding the sweetness in something deeper, while davana offers a more unconventional pairing that adds intrigue without overwhelming. Sandalwood in the base provides the creamy warmth that many modern wearers seek, and musk ensures the scent remains pleasant and close to the skin throughout the day. Each tier of the composition serves a specific purpose in creating a fragrance that feels both sophisticated and wearable.
The evolution
The journey of Nomade Absolu begins with plum at the opening, a fruit note chosen for its dual ability to feel modern and grounded simultaneously. This is not a synthetic candy sweetness but something closer to ripe, slightly tart plum flesh. As time passes, oakmoss and davana rise to define the heart, with the former providing the classic chypre structure's earthiness and the latter introducing a unique aromatic complexity that elevates the composition beyond standard fruity fare. The drydown anchors everything in sandalwood and musk, two notes that extend wear while keeping the sillage close to the body, ensuring the fragrance feels like an intimate signature rather than a room-filling statement.
Cultural impact
Nomade Absolu launched as a more intense interpretation of the original Nomade, positioning itself as a modern chypre-fruity. The composition pairs dense mirabelle plum over oakmoss and davana, yielding something richly fruited, textured, and more complex beneath the surface than what the conventional fruity-floral mainstream typically offers.
