The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Patrice Revillard designed Bonsoir Teo for the 2025 Teo Cabanel collection. The name says it all: a good evening, a signature for those hours when the lights go low and the conversation gets interesting. Warm amber rum meets dark leather, soft iris, and dry cocoa, all anchored by cedar and musk. No sweetness. No softening. Just the kind of fragrance that arrives when you're done pretending.
The rum doesn't behave like it does in most fragrances. Instead of a sweetened cocktail accord, it's true amber rum, bold, slightly raw, unadorned. Paired with leather, iris, and cocoa, it creates something that refuses to be polite. The leather gives it structure. The iris gives it that powdery, almost violet quality. The cocoa keeps it from becoming too austere. It's a combination that walks a fine line between refined and quietly dangerous.
The evolution
The rum opens bold and stays bold before the leather takes over. Not a gentle transition, this is the leather arriving on its own terms, dark and uncompromising. The iris shows up as a bridge, that powdery quality threading through the leather and cocoa to keep things from going completely dark. The drydown is warm, close to the skin. Amber and musk create a cocooning effect, with cedar holding everything together with a woody, almost clean finish. Lasts a full workday on most skin types. A trace of iris can still be detected on fabric hours later, a soft reminder of the fragrance lingering in the weave of cotton and linen.
Cultural impact
Bonsoir Teo arrives in 2025 as a warm, sensual option for cooler evenings and intimate settings. The composition centers on a leather and iris accord that carries genuine weight, avoiding light directions toward something more grounded and intentional. The absence of overt sweetness positions this fragrance as a deliberate choice for those seeking something substantive rather than purely decorative. It is a scent designed for occasions that reward attention to detail and a preference for nuanced expression over bold statement.
