The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Divine Caviar arrived in 2019 from O Boticário's Brazilian workshop, created by perfumers Magali Lara and Eurico Mazzini. The name speaks to something precious, unexpected, a material more associated with fine dining than fine fragrance, repurposed here as metaphor. Not the literal taste, but the idea: rare, indulgent, worth savoring. Mazzini and Lara built this around tropical richness. Brazilian perfumery has always had access to materials that European houses covet, ylang-ylang, vanilla, sandalwood. The warmth comes from homegrown materials, blended into something that feels both lush and grounded. The result is a fragrance that wears its richness openly, without apology, the tropical sun distilled into liquid form.
The heart is where this fragrance earns its name. Six florals, ylang-ylang, jasmine, freesia, white lily, rose, orchid, stacked into a single layered bloom. On paper, that sounds overwhelming. In practice, the florals combine in a way that feels cohesive, each one adding its own character to a shared warmth. Ylang-ylang brings a creamy, slightly sweet quality that many find comforting. Jasmine adds depth and a touch of the exotic. Freesia lends freshness that prevents the combination from feeling heavy.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately, bergamot and mandarin orange, bright and confident. The green notes add a leaf-like crispness that gives the citrus real presence. For the first thirty minutes, this is a clean, lively fragrance. Approachable. Then ylang-ylang arrives, bringing jasmine along for the ride. The florals don't fight each other, they layer, each one adding a different shade to the same warm hue. This is the phase that defines Divine Caviar: lush, tropical, unapologetically rich. If you're going to love this fragrance, you love it here. The drydown brings amber and vanilla into the mix, creating warmth that feels sunlit. Sandalwood adds depth without darkness. Moss grounds everything, keeping the sweetness honest.
Cultural impact
Divine Caviar appeals to those who appreciate warmth and richness in a fragrance. The ylang-ylang and jasmine heart offers a tropical florality that feels distinctly different, resonating with anyone who wants a scent that embraces fullness rather than restraint. It's the kind of fragrance that makes a statement without shouting, an assertion of richness and sensuality that feels earned rather than imposed. For those drawn to opulent compositions, this offers a chance to wear something that celebrates abundance in all its forms.
