The beginning
Marion Costero created Bem-me-Quer com Desejo in 2015, aiming for a fragrance that wore its heart exposed. Not shy. Not apologetic. The kind of scent that looks across a room and does not look away first. From the first spray, the composition reveals itself with unfiltered charm, a bright, fruity opening that gives way to creamy florals and warm, sweet base notes. Each layer feels intentional, building toward a finish that lingers with soft intimacy. The overall impression is one of confident allure, a scent that announces itself without shouting.
The note structure balances bright fruits against creamy florals and sweet, warm base materials. Raspberry, strawberry, and blackcurrant open the top, juicy and immediate. Orange blossom and jasmine sambac form a heart that feels floral without being delicate. The base is where the composition earns its character. Vanilla and cotton candy create sweetness, but sandalwood and musk keep everything grounded. The jasmine sambac is crucial here, too. Its creaminess tempers the sweetness without dampening it. This is what separates it from a straightforward fruity flanker.
The evolution
Raspberry and strawberry dominate the opening, tart and sweet at once. Blackcurrant joins quickly, deepening the berry medley. Mandarin orange adds brightness, and for a generous stretch the top remains a juicy, fruity burst. The heart introduces white florals. Orange blossom leads, with jasmine sambac adding a creamy warmth that shifts the composition from fruity to floral. Rose and lily of the valley soften the transition, creating that clean skin effect that white florals do so well. The drydown brings vanilla and cotton candy forward, the sweetness now warm and close to the skin. Amber adds a golden richness, and sandalwood provides creamy woodiness that grounds the composition. Jequiti positioned the scent as a bold statement of self-expression, leaning into cultural associations that equate confident scent with confident femininity.
