The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Part of Tiziana Terenzi's Luna Star collection, Mirach translates celestial wonder into olfactory form, a constellation of rose, oud, and warmth worn close to the skin like starlight. Paolo Terenzi composed Mirach as an extrait de parfum in 2018, working with the concentration and theatrical intensity that defines the house. His approach here: Bulgarian rose at its most unfiltered, paired with white oud and finished in a powdery base of sandalwood and benzoin. The result is a fragrance that doesn't ask permission to be noticed. From the first application, the composition reveals its intentions, rich, enveloping, and unmistakably present.
What makes Mirach distinctive is the way its rose doesn't soften or dilute, it arrives jammy and stays jammy, even as the oud and ambergris deepen the composition. The saffron and nutmeg function as connective tissue, warming the floral without gentling it. In the base, bourbon vanilla and benzoin create a powdery warmth that extends the drydown for hours, while Indian sandalwood adds a creamy woodiness that prevents the oud from becoming too dark or medicinal. The combination of Bulgarian rose, white oud, and powdery sandalwood is unusual, rose-oud pairings often favor darkness, but Mirach chooses warmth instead.
The evolution
The opening arrives immediately: Sicilian neroli adds a clean citrus edge that prevents the floral from becoming cloying, while Italian saffron brings a warm, almost medicinal spice that lingers on the tip of the tongue. Nutmeg softens the transition, bridging the citrusy brightness with the darker heart notes. As the fragrance develops, white oud emerges, smoky and slightly tar-like, but balanced by the warmth of ambergris. Patchouli adds earthiness, while sand introduces a mineral, slightly oceanic quality that grounds the composition. The neroli fades, leaving the rose and oud to dominate the heart. The drydown brings new dimensions: Bourbon vanilla creates a creamy sweetness that softens the oud's sharpness. Cambodian oud settles into a resinous, almost medicinal depth. Benzoin adds a sticky, balsamic warmth that enriches the base.
Cultural impact
Mirach belongs to a collection of bold, high-concentration fragrances from Tiziana Terenzi that favor intensity and lasting presence. The rose-oud combination has attracted a following among niche enthusiasts who appreciate the house's theatrical approach to fragrance. The Luna Star collection features distinct compositions that share a commitment to rich, extract-level formulas. For those seeking something beyond mainstream rose fragrances, Mirach offers a jammy, powdery alternative that lingers long after application.
