The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Sea Stars collection explores atmospheres rather than narratives, and Orza is the one that opens with a burst of light. Fruit and coconut against a bright sky. Orza opens with a luminous burst of wild berries, raspberry and blackberry arriving vivid and almost tart, softened by coconut that keeps the sweetness from becoming overwhelming. Green apple and mandarin add bright flashes beneath the surface. Orchid and magnolia bring an exotic floral presence, something with weight and character rather than softness. The top notes arrive forcefully and make their presence known before gradually yielding to the heart, where jasmine and Bulgarian rose establish themselves. The fruit retreats but doesn't disappear entirely, lending continuity beneath the florals.
Seven top notes is a statement. Wild berries, coconut, green apple, plum, orchid, magnolia, mandarin, each one jostling for attention in the opening minutes. Most fragrances ease you in. Orza doesn't. The abundance is the point: an immediate, generous first impression that signals something bigger is coming. The real test is whether the heart can hold against all that brightness. It does, Bulgarian rose and jasmine stand firm, keeping the florals from drowning under the fruit. The base delivers the payoff: caramel and Madagascar vanilla that finally give the sweetness something to settle into. Warm. Creamy. Worth the wait.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes belong to fruit. Wild berries and plum arrive together, bright and immediate, underscored by coconut cream that softens the edges. Green apple and mandarin flicker in and out, not dominant, but present. Around the hour mark, something shifts. Jasmine and Bulgarian rose emerge from the fruit, holding their ground against the sweetness rather than being buried by it. Lily of the valley adds a quiet green undertone that keeps the florals from feeling heavy. The transition isn't dramatic, it's more like a hand-off, smooth and deliberate. By hour three, the fruit begins to recede. Caramel and Madagascar vanilla move forward, bringing warmth that wasn't obvious in the opening. Sandalwood and benzoin anchor the base, with white musk adding a softness that makes the drydown feel intimate rather than loud. Eight hours in, the vanilla and caramel are still working. The next morning, something warm and faintly sweet remains on the skin, creamy, quiet, like the memory of the afternoon rather than the afternoon itself.
Cultural impact
Orza sits near the sweeter end of the Sea Stars collection, drawing wearers who want the performance of a niche extrait without the confrontational intensity some of the house's other releases deliver. The coconut-vanilla character defines this fragrance, from the way coconut softens the bright berry opening to the Madagascar vanilla and caramel that anchor the drydown. Longevity is a consistent strength, the base notes of benzoin, amber, and sandalwood ensuring the fragrance stays present for hours. Sillage remains noticeable without being overwhelming, making this a versatile choice that works as easily for daytime wear as for evening.
