The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Maurizio Cerizza and The House of Oud created Get The Feeling in 2020 as part of the Arts collection. The fragrance emerged from a space where the house's traditions could be explored without the usual constraints. The composition speaks to something direct, arriving on skin with an ease that feels natural rather than calculated. The name itself invites movement, a shift from overthinking to simply experiencing. With Get The Feeling, the perfumer pursued a scent that settles into the moment, inviting the wearer to be present with what they're wearing. The overall effect is one of openness and clarity, a fragrance that breathes easily without demanding attention.
What makes Get The Feeling structurally interesting is its architecture: an opening built around citrus and aquatic notes, followed by an herbal-spicy heart. The davana in the heart provides a pivot point, with sweet, slightly fermented, herbaceous qualities that add depth and intrigue. Combined with coriander and angelica root, it creates an aromatic complexity that unfolds gradually on the skin.
The evolution
The opening arrives fast, bergamot and lemon punch through with Sicilian brightness, ginger lending clean heat, pink pepper adding lift without sharpness. The aquatic notes sit underneath like a memory of salt. Then the davana surfaces, sweet and herbal, and the structure shifts. Cardamom and coriander settle in alongside chamomile's quiet sweetness. This is the heart of Get The Feeling, the part that justifies the THoO name. The juniper and patchouli arrive, bringing a woody dryness that adds depth and complexity to the composition. The ambrette seed is the quiet closer, a clean musk that lingers on the skin. The fragrance offers hours of evolution, with moderate sillage and projection that stays intimate. What remains is a faint woody warmth, patchouli and ambrette, close enough to be private.
Cultural impact
Get The Feeling occupies an interesting position within The House of Oud's catalog. The fresh-citrus character offers something distinctive within the house's range, appealing to those who appreciate both depth and freshness. The fragrance provides accessibility for those seeking wear-anytime qualities, making it a versatile addition to the collection. Its warm undertones ensure it remains recognizable as a House of Oud creation, bridging the gap between the house's traditional offerings and a more approachable approach that still carries the brand's signature character.
