The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Natura's Ekos collection is where the brand's Amazonian commitment becomes something you can wear. Frescor Ishpink takes its name from the ishpink tree, native to the Ecuadorian Amazon, a warm, spiced wood that carries the forest's resinous character into the bottle. Perfumer Verônica Kato built the composition around that ishpink foundation, surrounding it with florals and bright top notes that bring the fragrance into the open air. The result feels rooted, but never heavy. It breathes.
What makes ishpink unusual is its dual nature, warm and spiced, like cinnamon bark or star anise, but with a woody depth that anchors rather than lifts. Ishpink brings something stranger, earthier, more specific to place. Combined with guaiac wood, ocotea quixos, and frankincense, it creates a drydown that feels less like perfume and more like the memory of a forest after rain. Kato used the floral heart, rose, peach, jasmine, to soften the ishpink's edges without hiding them. The tension is intentional.
The evolution
The opening announces itself clearly: pink pepper, saffron, a flash of citrus that doesn't wait for permission. It reads bright, almost aquatic in its clarity, before the florals begin to swell. The heart, rose and peach, arrives without fanfare, slowly taking over as the spice settles. The ishpink and supporting woods emerge as the composition develops. The drydown is intimate, close to the skin, with sandalwood and musk giving it a creaminess that lingers. On fabric, the ishpink persists longest, a warm, resinous trace that stays past the point you'd expect.
Cultural impact
The ishpink note, sourced from sustainable partnerships with communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon, brings a distinctive regional character to this fragrance. This ingredient, native to the Amazonian forests, offers a warm and spiced quality that distinguishes the scent from more conventional florals. The use of ishpink reflects an effort to introduce lesser-known botanicals to a wider audience, providing an alternative to the more commonly used base notes in perfumery.
