The Japanese name, Hokkyokusei, carries the same meaning: the fixed point in the northern sky that everything else rotates around. Mucha's visual language has always leaned on celestial symbolism, golden halos, Byzantine ornament, the kind of decorative gravitas that reads as both intimate and infinite. Translating a guiding star into scent meant finding something equally fixed and reassuring. Something that promises constancy without feeling clinical, that holds its shape in a crowded room without shouting.
