Why it exists.
The beginning
Libra is part of MUCHA's Zodiac Sign collection, a series translating each astrological sign into a wearable composition. For Libra, MUCHA turned to balance rendered through green florals: the airy equilibrium of geranium, the grassy lift of palmarosa, and rose in a stripped-down, almost wild form. Here, that botanical vocabulary becomes a portrait of the scales: not heavy, not weightless, held in suspension between green and floral. The choice to keep the pyramid lean reflects that visual philosophy. Three notes, each given room to breathe, none buried beneath a supporting cast of fixatives or base materials. Geranium opens with a cool, leafy sharpness that reads more like foliage than flower.
What makes Libra distinctive is its restraint. Geranium brings a green, slightly bitter edge that keeps the rose from tipping into sweetness, while palmarosa, a grass-family aromatic, adds the herbal lift that reads more like crushed stems than essential oil. The two green notes do the structural work, framing the rose rather than smothering it. Without that bitterness, the rose here would lose its edge and turn syrupy; without the palmarosa, the geranium would feel flat and aqueous.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes belong to palmarosa and geranium. The rose arrives almost reluctantly, a half-step behind the green, as if it needed permission to enter. Palmarosa leads with its grassy, lemongrass-adjacent brightness, while geranium lays down a cool, slightly bitter green that anchors the opening. By the 45-minute mark, the balance settles: neither the herbal nor the floral dominates, and the wearer reads as fresh rather than perfumed. Around the two-hour mark, the green notes soften into something more diffuse, and the rose takes on a faintly dewy quality, closer to petals after rain than to a bouquet in a vase. The drydown doesn't introduce new material so much as reduce the composition to its bones, geranium's slight bitterness carrying the longest, with rose trailing behind like a memory of the bloom.
