M for Men arrived in 1971 as Mimmina's fragrance, carrying a quiet confidence rooted in classic fougère-adjacent architecture with an Italian sensibility, where freshness and herbaceous warmth carry equal weight. The opening builds around mint, black pepper, bergamot, and juniper, a combination that reads crisp and sharp without leaning cold, the kind of aromatic arrangement that settles onto skin like it already belongs there. As the composition moves past its first minutes, geranium and rose surface alongside mandarin orange, the rose staying structural and understated, the mandarin lending a slightly bitter citrus edge that prevents the heart from turning powdery.
What makes this composition distinctive is how it stacks spice on top of greenery rather than underneath it. Mint and black pepper lead, juniper and clary sage anchor the middle, and instead of a heavy mossy base, tarragon and cypress pull the whole thing into a dry, almost mineral register.
