The evolution

The grapefruit and bergamot arrive together, a sharp citrus burst that hits the top of the nose. But within minutes, cypress and black pepper push through, adding a pine-like crispness that redirects everything. Pink pepper lifts the composition, keeping it from becoming too austere. The heart opens as the citrus fades, an hour in, jasmine and rose assert themselves alongside cardamom and cinnamon. The florals don't feel feminine here. The spices warm them, give them weight and an almost edible quality, like crushed spices in a garden rather than petals on skin.
