Why it exists.
The beginning
In Barcelona, the legend of Saint George and the dragon is woven into the cultural fabric of the city. Carner Barcelona decided to translate this story into fragrance. Rose & Dragon is the olfactory embodiment of this legend, bold floral and leather, rich rose and deep incense notes, dark and fascinating as the story that inspired it. The fragrance opens with an immediate impression of richness. The rose does not arrive gently, it arrives dense, commanding attention with every breath. Beneath it, leather provides a structural foundation, its warmth and slight animalic quality grounding the florals without softening them. Incense adds an aromatic complexity, curling through the composition with each inhale. Together, these elements create something that feels simultaneously bold and refined.
The combination of Turkish rose absolute and Bulgarian rose creates a complex rose heart, not singular but layered, like petals and thorns together. The leather and castoreum base adds animalic depth that grounds the floral. Saffron and wild strawberry in the top notes provide fruity sweetness that temper the darkness, creating balance between bold and approachable. The evolution
The opening brightens with jammy wild strawberry and saffron. The sweetness is there but not cloying, cumin warms it from underneath, almost animalic. Within minutes, a dense rose arrives. Not delicate petals. A thicket. Wrapped in leather and incense. The honey keeps things grounded as incense curls through. The drydown reveals leather and castoreum dominating. The rose occasionally surfaces before fading again into an animalic trail that stays close to the skin.
