Why it exists.
The beginning
United Dreams Men Be Strong arrived in July 2015 as part of Benetton's expanded United Dreams collection, a line built around positive mantras rather than abstract luxury. The men's trio, Go Far, Be Strong, and Aim High, traded the usual swagger-heavy briefs for something more affirmative. Be Strong was composed for the man who looks forward and doesn't quit, which is less a cologne fantasy than a mood statement. The composition leans on citrus and spice to carry that forward energy, then grounds it in cedar and frankincense so the optimism has somewhere to land. On skin, the opening citrus gives off a brisk, sunlit quality, almost like the smell of fresh peel pressed between your fingers before it softens into warmer territory.
What makes Be Strong worth a second look is how it stacks its spice. Ginger, pink pepper, and nutmeg rarely share the same heart in a men's citrus-spicy, and the trio gives the fragrance a buzzy, almost thermal quality. Ginger brings the clean, rooty heat, pink pepper adds a rosy, slightly metallic sharpness, and nutmeg rounds it with something warm and edible underneath. The base then resists the obvious move of going heavy. Labdanum and frankincense are both resinous, but labdanum leans toward amber-leather warmth while frankincense pulls cooler and more mineral.
The evolution
The first ten minutes belong entirely to the citrus. Grapefruit, lime, and mandarin arrive bright and immediate, almost juicily so, like tearing into a piece of fruit. The sharpness softens quickly, and by the twenty-minute mark ginger takes the lead. It's clean heat, not the fire of cinnamon, more the sensation of holding a warm cup between cold hands. Pink pepper flickers underneath, adding a faint metallic brightness that keeps the heart from going sweet. Around the one-hour point, nutmeg and jasmine blur the edges, softening the spice into something creamier and more rounded. The jasmine is subtle, almost a texture rather than a note. After three hours, cedar and frankincense settle into the foreground. Labdanum underneath gives the base a quiet warmth, resinous but not heavy. By hour six, what's left is a soft cedar-incense skin scent, warm, dry, close. The sillage is moderate, it won't announce you across a room, but someone leaning in will know you smell good.

Be Strong lives in the affordable-fragrance tier, the kind of bottle that ends up in rotation rather than on a shelf for special occasions. Its community skews toward wearers who want something clean and uncomplicated for the office or weekends, and the value-for-money rating reflects that loyalty.
