Perfumer Vincent Schaller built this around the tension between immediate brightness and lasting warmth. The citrus opening hits clean, with bergamot and mandarin orange providing a sharp contrast to lemon's tartness. Madagascar black pepper adds a subtle edge at the periphery, keeping it from being merely refreshing. As the initial brightness settles, heart herbs add depth with lavender's familiar herbal calm and star anise's quiet anis character.
