The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Echoes of St. Moritz joins Swiss Arabian's Cities collection. St. Moritz offered a specific register for the line: the frozen citrus opening, the crispness of ice accord threading the red berries, elements that translate the sensation of thin, biting air at elevation. Swiss Arabian commissioned perfumer Sébastien Martin, with Philippine Courtière credited alongside, to compose a unisex extrait that holds onto that alpine clarity while still delivering the depth and longevity the brand's Arabian lineage demands. The result moves from glacial on top, through a green and resinous heart, into warm leather and amber underneath. Launched in 2026, it reads as the brand reaching toward a colder, more austere register without abandoning the richness that defines them.
What separates Echoes of St. Moritz from a dozen other 'fresh aromatic' launches is the deliberate collision of frozen citrus with a base that pulls heavy. The bergamot and frosted mandarin don't float alone. They crash into a heart of cypress, wild artemisia, and elemi resin that adds a sharp, almost medicinal green. Then the base lands: vetiver, leather, alpine cedarwood, moss, patchouli, amber, musk, vanilla. That's not a whisper. The composition refuses to stay cold. The artemisia especially earns attention here.
The evolution
The opening feels sharp and immediate. Bergamot and frosted mandarin hit bright, the grapefruit underneath adding a slight bitterness that keeps the sweetness honest. Red berries lighten the whole top without turning candied. Then the ice accord does its work, a mineral coldness that makes everything feel thin and bright. Soon after, the heart emerges. Cypress arrives first, green and resinous, then apple and the artemisia bringing that slightly bitter, herbal quality. Elemi adds a peppery lift. This is where the fragrance stops being purely cold and starts becoming something more complex. The drydown takes its time but arrives with conviction. Vetiver and alpine cedarwood anchor everything, then leather moves in. Not aggressive leather, not biker jacket, more like a well-worn leather wallet or a leather-bound book left in a cool room. The amber and vanilla smooth the edges.
Cultural impact
Echoes of St. Moritz lands as part of Swiss Arabian's Cities collection, a series that translates the character of specific places into wearable compositions. The alpine-inspired direction signals a willingness to work with colder, more austere materials, without abandoning the richness that defines the brand. The result is a UAE house translating mountain cold while keeping its own accent intact. The fragrance moves confidently between registers: bright citrus and ice accord in the opening, a green herbal heart, and a warm, textured base of leather, amber, and woods.
