The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Rose 01 arrived in 2021 from Swiss Arabian, a house that grew from a Yemeni perfumer's half-million dirham gamble in 1974 Sharjah into a global operation spanning 80 countries. Jean-Louis Sieuzac, the nose behind the composition, structured this as a deliberate statement piece, a rose fragrance built to perform at the same level as much pricier competitors. The brief was clear: full-bodied florals, exceptional longevity, and the kind of sillage that turns heads. Swiss Arabian's heritage taught them that Arabian perfumery has always valued presence over subtlety. Rose 01 is that philosophy applied to a modern floral.
What makes Rose 01 structurally interesting is how the heart dominates from the start. Most fragrances ease you into the floral heart; here, Bulgarian rose and pink peony arrive almost immediately, backed by a whisper of nutmeg that keeps things from becoming saccharine. The base, musk, vanilla, and cashmeran, doesn't ground the fragrance so much as extend it, creating a warm halo that holds the florals in place for hours. The lychee in the opening is fleeting, a tropical accent that tempts you closer before the roses take over. Cashmeran adds that soft, almost tactile warmth without tipping into gourmand territory.
The evolution
The opening is all citrus brightness, bergamot cutting through, pink pepper adding a slight prickle. Within minutes, lychee arrives, sweet and tropical, before the roses surge forward and establish dominance. Bulgarian rose and pink peony blend into something bigger than either alone, with the nutmeg lending a subtle spice that keeps the florals from becoming flat. This is the fragrance's long middle act: a floral chorus that doesn't shift much but maintains steady intensity. The drydown is where cashmeran and vanilla work together, adding warmth and a powdery softness that extends everything. On fabric, this fragrance will be detectable the next morning. On skin, it demands reapplication, not because it fades, but because 10+ hours is a commitment.
Cultural impact
Rose 01 draws inevitable comparisons to Parfums de Marly's Delina, a fragrance that became a modern classic through sheer staying power. Community reviewers consistently note Rose 01 as a high-similarity alternative at a different price point. The conversation centers on performance: this is a fragrance that performs above its category, with longevity and sillage scores that rival much more expensive niche releases. Wearers describe it as the scent of someone who doesn't need to announce themselves, they already know the room noticed.
