The beginning
L'Eau en Blanc arrived in May 2012 as a romantic fragrance inspired by white violet and interpreted in a recognizable Lolita Lempicka gourmand register. Three years later, in April 2015, the house released L'Eau en Blanc Edition Perles, a limited collector's edition housed in a pearly bottle meant to symbolize love and beauty. The same perfumer who shaped the original L'Eau en Blanc composition returned for this iteration, threading familiar materials into a more ornamented frame. Annick Menardo composed this follow-up, lending her particular hand to the white-violet idea. The concept was simple: take the white violet idea and dress it up. Make it a treasure.
What makes this composition worth a second look is how Menardo stacks violet-family materials without letting them collapse into a single sweet blur. Iris powder gives the cold, rooty backbone. Violet leaf sharpens the opening with a green, almost mineral edge. White violet softens the heart into something gently powdered and dewy. Then the sour cherry and raspberry arrive to cut that creaminess with a tart, almost candied fruit. Licorice threads through everything, a house signature that keeps the sweetness from tipping into cloying.
The evolution
The first ten minutes belong to violet leaf, cold and faintly metallic, with iris powder dusting over everything like someone tapped a compact near your face. By the thirty-minute mark, the sour cherry arrives, pulling the composition toward something warmer and more edible, raspberry softening its edges. The licorice never announces itself loudly, but it weaves underneath, keeping everything in the Lolita Lempicka family. Around the two-hour mark, the heliotrope steps forward with that almond-vanilla sweetness, musk anchoring it to skin, tonka bean adding a quiet warmth. Vetiver keeps the base from going too plush. What clings the next morning reads as soft powder, faint cherry, and skin-warmed tonka. It doesn't shout. It lingers like a memory of perfume on a sweater, the kind of trace that surfaces when you button an old coat in late autumn and catch a faint sweetness in the lining.

As a limited collector's edition, L'Eau en Blanc Edition Perles occupies a small but distinct corner of the Lolita Lempicka universe. The powdery violet-and-cherry composition reads as nostalgic without being dated.
