The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Delicacies Collection exists because some memories taste better than they smell, and some smells are worth building an entire collection around. Baklava Bliss arrived in 2025 from Camille Chemardin, working with IDEO Parfumeurs' Lebanese-French creative sensibility to translate the sensory shorthand of Middle Eastern pastry culture into something wearable. Not a literal pastry reference. A declaration that sweetness, warmth, and edible beauty are legitimate ambitions for a fragrance, not guilty pleasures to be apologized for. The name says it plainly. The composition earns it.
Pistachio and citrus open the composition, bright, fresh, with a nuttiness that immediately sets this apart from sweeter gourmand fare. The citrus doesn't dominate; it amplifies the pistachio's green complexity before milk arrives to soften everything into cream. Heliotrope's powdery almond character creates a bridge between the nuttiness of the top and the lactonic warmth of the heart, while orange blossom adds a bittersweet floral lift that keeps the composition from becoming too heavy. It's the combination that makes this work, creamy without being cloying, sweet without being one-dimensional.
The evolution
The opening is citrus and pistachio in equal measure, bright, clean, with a nuttiness that reads as fresh rather than sweet. Within twenty minutes the citrus recedes and the milk becomes the story. The heliotrope arrives quietly, powdering everything in its path, and orange blossom threads through to prevent the whole thing from flattening into body spray. By the second hour the lactonic warmth has settled and the drydown begins its slow, quiet exit. White musk and cedarwood form the base, clean, slightly warm, while vanilla adds a final layer of sweetness and pine contributes a faint evergreen note that grounds the whole thing. The cedar-pine combination is the quiet workhorse here, keeping the sweet pistachio from cloying as it fades. The drydown lasts several hours on most skin, intimate and close.
Cultural impact
The 2025 Delicacies Collection places Baklava Bliss within IDEO's ongoing exploration of edible beauty and sensory pleasure. The fragrance's warm, lactonic character and powdery drydown position it as a quiet statement, sweet without apology, close rather than announced. It's the kind of composition that works in spaces where subtlety reads as confidence, and the wearer's relationship with sweetness is one of acceptance rather than compromise.
