The evolution

The first twenty minutes are the most demanding, chili and cardamom hitting hard while almond introduces an edible sweetness that some find jarring. If the opening is the test, the next two hours are the reward. Bulgarian rose and leather arrive together, with the rose softening what could be harsh in the leather and labdanum adding a sticky amber quality that bridges the gap between the spicy top and the woody base. By hour four, sandalwood and smoke have taken over and the vanilla becomes more apparent. The warm, close, intimate character overtakes any projection.
