The beginning
El Descanso draws its name from the Argentine concept of rest, the stillness of an open field at the end of a long day. The official brand narrative describes golden wheat fields stretching into the limitless horizon, an alazan horse grazing under an ombú tree, sparrows returning to their nests as wind lingers on the whispering plains. The perfumer Irina Burlakova translated that landscape into scent, working with bran absolute, the green lift of galbanum, and the woody warmth of cedar and sandalwood. The result is a fragrance built around the quiet of an open field, warm grain and wood that settles into skin like the exhale after a harvest.
Bran absolute is an unusual choice here, an aromatic material drawn from wheat bran, carrying a quiet, flour-like warmth that grounds the composition in something agricultural and specific.
