The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Irina Burlakova built Victoria around a tension between creamy florals and dark resins. The 2022 launch brought together lychee, litsea cubeba, and petitgrain as a luminous opening, but the real statement sits in the heart: tuberose absolute, bold and unapologetic, softened only slightly by rose and styrax. Castoreum, frankincense, and patchouli anchor the drydown, creating a finish that lingers. This structure, brightness into boldness into depth, defines Victoria's character and makes it a fragrance that reveals itself in layers.
The contrast between creamy white florals and deep, resinous oud defines Victoria's architecture. Lychee, litsea cubeba, and petitgrain create a luminous opening that attracts, but the heart is where the statement lives, tuberose absolute arriving unapologetically, supported by rose and styrax for depth. The base builds from oud's richness through castoreum and frankincense into patchouli's earthiness, creating a finish that lingers.
The evolution
Victoria opens bright and tropical with lychee and litsea cubeba, but within minutes the tuberose asserts itself, creamy, insistent, demanding attention. The rose softens the edge while styrax adds resinous warmth, and the oud emerges as a dark, resinous anchor that grounds the florals into something deep and lasting. The castoreum adds animalic warmth beneath, making the drydown feel intimate and persistent on skin.
Cultural impact
Victoria challenges the idea that florals must be delicate or purely sweet. By pairing creamy, waxy blooms like tuberose with dark, resinous notes like oud, the fragrance carves out unconventional territory. It's a bold statement piece that refuses to disappear into the background, making a case for florals as commanding as any resin. A fragrance for those who want to be remembered.
