The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Patricia Choux graduated from ISIPCA with a background in fine fragrance chemistry, and Biehl Parfumkunstwerke gave her an open brief in 2007: translate a sunny, airy artwork into liquid form. The young perfumer could have reached for the usual tropical playbook. Instead, she chose precision, building the opening around mango leaf and citrus rather than generic coconut or beach accord.
The note structure reflects a deliberate choice to use tropical elements without resorting to stereotype. Mango leaf provides green freshness rather than sweet fruit. Frangipani offers creamy floralcy without heavy vanilla. The vetiver and cashmere wood drydown keeps everything grounded and elegant rather than sticky or synthetic.
The evolution
pc01 opens with mango leaf and mandarin orange, bright and green. Neroli and davana add complexity before the heart of mango, frangipani, and peony emerges, creamy and warm. Vetiver and cashmere wood eventually take over, softening into a drydown that feels intimate rather than loud. The base lingers close to the skin for hours, with the cashmere wood providing a subtle warmth that invites closeness without announcing itself.
Cultural impact
Since its 2007 launch, pc01 has become a quiet favorite among niche collectors who appreciate its gallery‑like presentation and the balance of bright citrus with green‑floral depth. Wearers often cite its ability to feel both fresh and grounded, making it a go‑to for those seeking a scent that stands out without shouting, cementing its place in the modern art‑perfume conversation.
