Patricia Choux
Patricia Choux grew up among the vineyards and orchards of Burgundy, where her grandparents' garden taught her the language of scent. As a child she chased the aromas of ripening fruit and fresh herbs, and she promised herself she would bottle those memories. A chemistry degree gave her the tools to translate feeling into formula, and in 1993 she earned a place at ISIPCA, France’s premier perfumery school. There she met Dominique Ropion, whose rigorous approach sharpened her nose and her confidence. After graduation she joined Mane, quickly rising to senior perfumer. Her early projects for Jo Malone, Laura Mercier and Marc Jacobs earned industry praise, and she has since authored more than five hundred fragrances across fine perfume and personal‑care lines. In 2022 she unveiled “London 1983,” a tribute to the founder’s youthful days in the capital, cementing her reputation as a storyteller who blends memory with modern chemistry.

The signature
How Patricia composes
Patricia’s signature technique hinges on precise modulation of top‑note volatility. She favors bright citrus, crisp green accords, and transparent aldehydes to create an immediate spark, then introduces heart ingredients such as jasmine, violet leaf or heliotrope for depth. A fondness for gourmand touches—caramelized sugar, toasted almond, or subtle spice—appears in her later layers, while base notes of ambergris, soft woods, and musk provide lingering warmth. She often pairs natural absolutes with cutting‑edge aroma chemicals, allowing the synthetic to echo the texture of the natural without overpowering it.
Philosophy
What drives Patricia
Patricia treats each brief as a conversation with the wearer. She believes a perfume must answer a question the nose asks before the mind can articulate it. Her work starts with a single note that captures an emotion—often a green leaf or a sun‑warmed fruit—and she builds outward, layering contrast to keep the scent alive. She respects the balance between nature and synthetics, using lab‑crafted molecules to amplify the purity of natural extracts. The drive behind every bottle is the desire to turn fleeting moments into lasting intimacy.
