The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Tanseeq arrived in 2024 from Athoor Al Alam, a Dubai-based fragrance house founded in 2013. The name points toward balance and arrangement, and that idea shows up clearly in the composition: bright fruit, clean citrus, a white floral heart, and a warm woody base. There is no named perfumer attached to the release, so the scent speaks for itself. It feels like a contemporary approach to Arabian perfumery, where fruit and citrus bring the brightness while rose, jasmine, amber, and woods create a more expressive foundation.
The interesting part is the handoff between contrasting materials. Apple, bergamot, blackcurrant, and lemon give Tanseeq its first spark. A floral center follows, with rose and jasmine sitting beside lily of the valley and cyclamen, while amber adds a soft warmth underneath. Then the base changes the temperature: cedarwood, moss, patchouli, musk, and vanilla settle into something more tactile and composed. The result isn't a simple fresh floral. It's fresh fruit with a pulse of elegance underneath.
The evolution
On skin, Tanseeq begins with a clean burst of citrus and fruit. Bergamot and lemon give it a cool, polished edge, while apple softens the brightness and blackcurrant adds a darker, more playful fruit note. That first impression quickly gives way to a floral center. Rose, jasmine, and lily of the valley make the scent more expressive, joined by cyclamen's cool green character and amber's gentle warmth. As the hours pass, the composition settles into musk, vanilla, cedarwood, moss, and patchouli. The bright opening becomes quieter, but never disappears completely. By the later stages, Tanseeq reads as a soft musky floral with woody depth, leaving a close, gently sweet trace that works best when you want polished scent without a dramatic entrance.
Cultural impact
Athoor Al Alam positions Tanseeq within a modern, inclusive approach to Middle Eastern perfumery: classic floral, woody, and amber ideas made for everyday wear. Its unisex presentation fits the brand's broader emphasis on choosing fragrance through personal resonance rather than rigid gender rules.
