The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Safari arrived from Athoor Al Alam in 2025 with an open-air instinct and a polished finish. Its name suggests movement, brightness, and the freedom of being outdoors, though nothing here feels like a literal field guide. Instead, the fragrance builds that freedom from a lively meeting of citrus, rosemary, lavender, white flowers, and amber. The composition opens on a rush of brightness, where bitter orange, bergamot, and mandarin lend their juicy snap while rosemary and lavender thread a clean, herbal green through the air. That crisp top soon softens into a floral center built on neroli, orange blossom, and jasmine, each note catching the light differently as the scent moves from sharp to silky.
The interesting part is the balance. Citrus notes could have carried the whole composition, but orange blossom, neroli, jasmine, and pitosporum give it a floral center with more body. Rosemary and lavender pull that softness into aromatic territory, while angelica, ambrette, and amber stop the result from feeling like a simple splash of citrus. The contrast gives Safari its shape: fresh at first, floral through the middle, and quietly warm underneath.
The evolution
The opening arrives with the brisk confidence of citrus cut against rosemary. Bitter orange, bergamot, mandarin, lemon myrtle, and lavender create a bright, lightly herbal first impression, but the scent does not remain a lone citrus note. It gradually hands that brightness to neroli, African orange blossom, jasmine, and pitosporum, where the composition becomes softer and more luminous. The transition feels natural rather than abrupt, as if the brighter top notes exhale into something rounder and more petal-like. As the floral heart settles, angelica, ambrette, and amber bring a measured warmth beneath it, their musk and resin softening the white florals into something more skin-adjacent. The surprise is how the drydown keeps both energies alive, aromatic and floral against amber's gentle heat.
Cultural impact
Safari carries a citrus-aromatic profile that places it firmly within a category many modern wearers find easy to reach for. Its blend of bright citrus, herbal rosemary, and white florals speaks to a broad audience drawn to fresh, luminous scents. The men's designation sits alongside that appeal, leaving room for anyone who connects with its character to wear it on their own terms.
