The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pride arrived in 2024 from Athoor Al Alam, a fragrance house with no documented named perfumer or fragrance-specific inspiration. Its identity rests in the composition itself: pink pepper, bergamot, and ginger create a lively opening before benzoin, saffron, and rose introduce a softer, spice-edged middle. The name suggests confidence, but the scent delivers that idea through balance rather than excess. As the fragrance develops, patchouli and vanilla draw the brighter opening into a warm woody base, while Operanide®, Ambrocenide®, and ambergris add a polished, lightly ambery trail. It's a modern expression shaped by contrast, with citrus, spice, floral warmth, and woods moving together in a measured composition.
The unusual part is the handoff from brightness to warmth. Pink pepper gives the opening a clean sting, while bergamot keeps it lucid. Ginger adds a measured warmth, then rose brings a polished floral edge into the heart. Benzoin and saffron make that center richer and more resinous. In the base, vanilla and patchouli temper the spice with sweetness and woods, while Operanide®, Ambrocenide®, and ambergris give it a sleek, lightly ambery finish. The result is familiar enough for daily wear, but layered enough to reward a second sniff.
The evolution
The opening is the most articulate phase: pink pepper, bergamot, and ginger move quickly, like a clean snap before the fragrance settles. The heart softens without going quiet. Benzoin lays down a resinous warmth, saffron adds a dry spice, and rose introduces a softly gendered floral center. As the fragrance dries, the composition becomes more tactile. Patchouli and vanilla pull the earlier brightness into a warm woody base, while Operanide®, Ambrocenide®, and ambergris leave a polished, slightly ambery trail. By the final hours, the scent reads less like citrus and more like well-mixed spice with a soft finish. The progression moves from vivid brightness to resinous warmth, then settles into a close, gently spiced trail.
Cultural impact
Pride is a contemporary fragrance built around a lively meeting of citrus, spice, floral warmth, woods, and amber. Pink pepper and bergamot create a bright opening, followed by the dry lift of saffron and the soft floral texture of rose. Benzoin brings resinous warmth, while patchouli and vanilla deepen the composition into a soft woody base. As the scent develops, its brighter notes become less prominent and the warmer materials take over, leaving a polished, lightly ambery trail. The balance between freshness and richness gives the fragrance a versatile character without tying it to a single setting.
