The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Happy Moments arrived in 2015 with a straightforward ambition: capture the joy of ordinary days. Tous, the Spanish jewelry house, built its name on accessible luxury and warmth. The perfume was conceived as an expression of that ethos. Juliette Karagueuzoglou built the composition around notes that feel familiar without being predictable: bright citrus for the opening, florals in the heart that carry a gentle, welcoming quality, and a gourmand base that grounds everything in warmth rather than drama. The opening citrus sparkles with clarity, creating an immediate sense of brightness. As the heart develops, the floral elements unfold with a soft, approachable character that invites rather than overwhelms. The base lingers with a cozy, edible warmth that feels like a gentle embrace.
What makes Happy Moments work is the popcorn accord. Not literal movie-theater popcorn, something softer, buttery and warm, like the memory of a sweet smell rather than the smell itself. Paired with white chocolate and cedar, it creates a lactonic sweetness that never cloys. The daisies and orchid in the heart add a floral dimension that balances the composition. It's a floral-gourmand hybrid that knows exactly what it is: a sweet, warm scent built around edible comfort.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and fruity, clementine and pineapple arriving together, citrus-sweet and immediate. Within twenty minutes, the florals take over. Daisy reads soft and slightly green, not powdery. The orchid adds a quiet exoticism underneath. And then the popcorn accord arrives, the telling note. Butter and warmth, lactonic and playful. The white chocolate and cedar arrive in the final act, smoothing everything into a warm, close drydown that stays intimate. The fragrance moves through its phases with a smooth progression, each layer building on the last to create a cohesive experience that unfolds naturally over time.
Cultural impact
The Spanish jewelry house Tous brought its established craftsmanship into perfumery with Happy Moments. The fragrance brought the popcorn note into the conversation among those exploring fragrance. Its modest price point and approachable character positioned it as an entry point into fragrance culture, offering a sweet, edible quality that felt welcoming rather than exclusive. The lactonic sweetness of the popcorn accord, paired with white chocolate and cedar, created a comforting warmth that distinguished it from more traditional gourmand offerings.
