The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Tommy Hilfiger built its name on classic American sportswear, clean, confident, approachable. Impact Together arrived in 2024 as a fragrance that asks a different question: what happens when confidence isn't about standing alone? Perfumer Nadège Le Garlantezec drew from the brand's heritage of relaxed sophistication, balancing mineral-fresh opening notes with warm woody undertones. The name itself carries the intent. This isn't a fragrance for commanding a room. It's for the moments where showing up together is the whole point. Fresh, mineral, and quietly present, it's American optimism without the volume.
Le Garlantezec structured Impact Together around a mineral-aquatic foundation using Calone, a synthetic aromatic compound that creates a clean, contemporary marine effect. Black pepper and cardamom bring immediate clean heat to the opening, spice without the fire of a warmer spice accord. The heart pairs clary sage with geranium, creating aromatic tension between sharp and sweet, while Moroccan artemisia adds a bitter, complex herbal layer that elevates the composition beyond a straightforward fresh fragrance. The drydown leans into cedarwood, vetiver, and Akigalawood, woods that feel worn and familiar rather than exotic, keeping the Tommy Hilfiger accessible luxury positioning intact.
The evolution
The opening hits mineral salt and ozonic clarity, sea air, the retreat of a wave from wet stone. Black pepper and cardamom arrive within minutes, clean heat that doesn't warm so much as sharpen. The clary sage in the heart asserts itself with an aromatic, almost camphorated edge while geranium sweetens the transition, creating herbal tension that keeps the mid-phase from feeling flat. Moroccan artemisia adds bitter complexity to the heart that deepens the herbal character. By the drydown, the mineral and marine notes fade and cedarwood takes over, dry, aromatic, and slightly smoky. Vetiver adds earthiness underneath. Akigalawood brings a dry, slightly spicy woodiness that rounds the finish. The sillage moderates significantly in the drydown, staying close to the skin. On most skin types, 6-8 hours. The next morning, a faint cedar and vetiver trace remains on fabric.
Cultural impact
Impact Together released in 2024 as part of Tommy Hilfiger's ongoing fragrance line, continuing the brand's tradition of accessible, mainstream compositions. The fresh-mineral-aquatic character with synthetic marine notes appeals to those seeking modern freshness, though the Calone-driven opening generates mixed reactions, some find it contemporary and clean, others find it synthetic. The aromatic herbal heart and woody drydown perform reliably, aligning with Tommy Hilfiger's signature approach.
