Frankincense appears three times across the pyramid, at the top, heart, and base, creating a throughline that binds the entire composition. That repetition isn't accident or padding. It means the incense doesn't arrive and vanish. It evolves, deepens, and settles into the skin. The lavender and rose in the opening provide botanical contrast to the smoke, keeping the top from overwhelming. The leather and saffron in the heart add warmth and spice without competing. The base combines amber, oud, patchouli, and musk into a foundation that holds everything together. Rich, layered, and coherent across hours.

The evolution

The opening hits immediately, frankincense and lavender cutting through with a smoky, aromatic intensity that announces itself. Within minutes, rose and jasmine appear beneath the surface, threading sweetness through the smoke. The transition to the heart brings leather and saffron forward, shifting the character from incense-forward to warm and spiced. Violet adds a powdery softness that keeps the leather from becoming harsh. By the drydown, the amber and oud dominate, with frankincense now a low hum beneath the surface rather than the lead. Patchouli and musk keep the base close to the skin, intimate rather than projecting. Eight to ten hours later, on fabric or skin, the resinous warmth remains, a ghost of smoke and amber that never fully disappears.
