Intuition.

Spirit of Kings released Intuition in 2022, working with perfumer Christian Provenzano. The name says something about the nature of the fragrance itself, a composition built around trusting the first impression rather than second-guessing it. Provenzano structured Intuition as a progression from sharp opening to warm settling: spices that demand immediate attention, florals that arrive once you've decided, and a base that confirms the choice was right. The fragrance isn't trying to be anything except itself, which is exactly what intuition is, the decision that comes before the analysis.

The note structure is worth sitting with. Saffron and cardamom open bright and almost aggressive, the kind of first impression that registers before you've consciously processed it. Then Bulgarian rose and geranium arrive, not competing with the spices but softening them, adding a layer of emotional intelligence to the composition. By the time vanilla and Cambodian oud anchor the drydown, the fragrance has made its case. Castoreum adds that animalic warmth that keeps the drydown from becoming decorative, it feels lived-in, skin-warm, honest. The synthetic-resinous classification from enthusiasts makes sense once you've worn it: this is modern in its construction but ancient in its instincts.

On fabric, it lingers for days.

Intuition sits comfortably in the warm-spicy, animalic-resinous space that appeals to wearers who want a fragrance with genuine character. The 10+ hour longevity and strong sillage make it a statement piece, something worn for the long haul rather than a quick impression. It's not trying to please everyone, and that's exactly the appeal.
