The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
100 Days launched in 2021, composed by Michael Wong. The fragrance maps to a feeling rather than a place: the slow accumulation of intimacy, counted in mornings and small gestures. It is conceived as a countdown across Day 1, Day 50, and Day 100, charting the progression of falling in love. Day 1 captures the opening moments, tentative and aware. Day 50 marks the deepening, when familiarity grows. Day 100 arrives at quiet certainty, the comfort of someone who no longer needs to perform. The structure gives the release a love letter quality, one you can almost read chapter by chapter through scent. Each numbered chapter offers its own emotional register, but together they tell a single unfolding story.
The composition earns that narrative arc through restraint rather than spectacle. The top trio of lemon, peach, and apple delivers a bright fruity-fresh opening, and Wong pairs it with a heart of jasmine and rose that leans powdery rather than heavy. The base keeps things grounded with cedar and musk, anchoring the lighter notes with a soft woody warmth. Nothing overwhelms; every phase hands off to the next without drama.
The evolution
On skin, the first fifteen minutes are the loudest the fragrance gets. Lemon cuts through first, sharp and brief, then peach softens the edges and apple rounds it out with a tart sweetness that reads almost like biting into the fruit. The jasmine enters quietly, threading through the fruit rather than pushing it aside. As the fragrance settles on skin, the rose takes on a creamy, powdery warmth, turning the composition inward toward something more personal and familiar. The fruit recedes but never fully disappears; it stays as a sweetness underneath the florals, a quiet echo of the opening. The cedar arrives in the drydown, clean and slightly dry, with musk wrapping everything in a soft, skin-warm veil. What remains in the later hours is mostly musk and a faint trace of rose, close to the skin, the scent of someone you know well rather than someone you just met.
Cultural impact
100 Days launched in 2021 as the '005' entry within One Day's broader catalog of numbered fragrance releases. Where other releases in the lineup carry city names like Taipei, Amsterdam, and Kyoto, 100 Days takes a different approach, organizing itself around an emotional concept: the progression of intimacy across a hundred days. The fruity-floral profile, built around peach, lemon, apple, jasmine, rose, cedar, and musk, reflects the gentle, romantic direction the concept calls for.
