Why it exists.
The beginning
Pietra di Luna joined Omnia Profumi's Collezione Stones in 2025. This one takes its cue from moonstone, a stone whose name carries the suggestion of pale, floating light. The composition was shaped by Fabrizio Tagliacarne, the brand's perfumer and brand owner. The opening reads bright and citrus-led, with bitter orange, mandarin, and orange lifting off the skin in quick succession. That clarity fades as the heart takes hold: banana and coconut soften the edges, tiare flower and tuberose add a creamy tropical sweetness, and milk cream smooths the transition into base. The drydown is where the fragrance settles into its truest register. Bourbon vanilla and standard vanilla layer into something dense and faintly gourmand.
What makes this composition work is the tension between the opening and the base. Bitter orange, mandarin, and orange announce themselves with real brightness, a sunny, almost sharp entry. Then the heart turns almost completely opaque: banana, coconut, milk cream, tiare flower, and tuberose together build something that reads less like a perfume and more like a dessert course on warm skin. The Bourbon vanilla and opoponax at the base are what keep it from sliding into pure confection. Opoponax adds a faint resinous bitterness, the balsamic edge that stops the sweetness from going flat.
