Why it exists.
The beginning
Manos Gerakinis Parfums set out to bottle the mystique of ancient Delphi with Omen, a 2020 release that imagines the Temple of Apollo at the moment the Pythia delivers a prophecy. Perfumer Miguel Matos translated the temple's stone-cold marble and the incense-laden air into a scent, using crisp apple and bay leaf to evoke the moment before the trance begins and saffron to suggest the metallic sharpness of supernatural cognition.
Omen is built around contrasts: the crisp and the resinous, the green and the smoked, the floral and the animalic. The apple-bay leaf opening is designed to feel like cold air entering warm lungs, while the balsam fir heart recalls the sacred grove that surrounded the temple. Buchu, a note rarely seen in fine perfumery, was chosen for its aromatic, almost medicinal intensity that mirrors the Pythia's altered state. The leather-oud drydown represents the aftermath of prophecy: heavy, smoky, and unforgettable.
The evolution
The fragrance begins with a crisp, almost clinical opening: green apple and bay leaf create a sensation of cool air inside a stone sanctuary. As the scent evolves, balsam fir emerges as the dominant heart note, its resinous ever green quality suggesting the sacred laurel of Apollo.
