The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Wild Tuberose arrived in 2024 as a collaboration with Nokta Cosmetics Istanbul. Tuberose, a flower long associated with dense, almost intoxicating compositions, here gets treated with a different hand. The composition leans on green leaves and bergamot to keep the bloom from sinking into its own sweetness, opening with a dusting of powdered sugar that reads more like sunlight than dessert. The result is a tuberose that smells alive, still growing, not arranged in a vase. The fragrance carries a clear point of view about what a white floral can be when it's not allowed to dominate everything around it. Green facets keep the freshness alive at the surface while the florals layer in beneath, and the whole thing never tips into the candied territory that heavy white florals often fall into.
What makes this composition interesting is the restraint around the star note. Tuberose is famous for drowning everything around it, but here it shares the stage. Jasmine sambac adds a creamy, almost fruity sweetness, while magnolia brings a lemony brightness that lifts the whole heart. The powdered sugar in the opening does unusual work, too. It sweetens the green accord without making the fragrance feel gourmand. The base pulls the whole thing back to earth with cedarwood, frankincense, patchouli and sandalwood, materials that ground the composition.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are the greenest part. Bergamot, crushed leaves, a dusting of sugar that reads more like sunlight than dessert. The florals arrive in layers rather than all at once. Magnolia comes first, bright and almost citrusy, then the jasmine sambac settles in with its creamy warmth, and finally the tuberose unfolds fully, louder than you'd expect but never overwhelming. As the composition develops, it shifts into something quieter. The green notes recede, the sugar fades, and the woods take over. Cedarwood leads, with frankincense adding a resinous coolness and sandalwood softening the edges. Patchouli grounds the whole drydown, earthy and rooted. What's left on skin is a warm, woody whisper, the ghost of the florals still detectable underneath.
Cultural impact
Released in collaboration with Nokta Cosmetics Istanbul, Wild Tuberose offers tuberose without the narcotic weight the note usually carries. The composition reads as a fresh take on white florals for someone who wants blooms that stay alive on skin rather than collapsing into sweetness. It belongs to a growing conversation about how heavy floral materials can be treated with more nuance, proving that restraint around big notes can produce something more interesting than abundance. The green opening sets it apart from typical tuberose compositions, and the carefully built base gives it longevity without weight.
