The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
In 2015, I Profumi di Firenze released Cashmere as part of their ongoing tradition of transforming Tuscan places and sensations into wearable narratives. The house, founded in 1966 and rooted in pharmacy-inspired transparent techniques, conceived this fragrance as an olfactory tribute to the tactile sensation of cashmere against skin. The green opening notes echo the fresh herbs found in Florentine markets while the floral heart captures the gardens scattered throughout the city, and the warm base mirrors the comfort of wrapping oneself in the softest fibers.
Cashmere represents the philosophy that luxury lies in comfort and wearability rather than spectacle. The combination of angelica and galbanum in the opening was chosen for their ability to create an immediate freshness that feels modern and clean, grounding the fragrance before the softer floral heart takes over. Lily of the valley and rose create an Intimate middle ground that suits close encounters and quiet moments. The final pairing of sandalwood with vanilla echoes the cashmere metaphor perfectly, both elements known for their soft, enveloping qualities that remain close to the wearer rather than projecting loudly into a room.
The evolution
The fragrance begins with an immediate impression of fresh herbs and green tension, angelica lending its aromatic sweetness while galbanum adds a sharp, resinous quality that clears the mind. Within minutes, this green intensity softens as lily of the valley emerges, its delicate floral character unfurling alongside rose, which brings a gentle warmth to the heart. The progression feels like watching morning light soften over Florentine stone walls. As time passes, sandalwood takes hold, its creamy, milky woodiness wrapping around the skin while vanilla weaves in quietly, adding a hint of sweetness that never overwhelms, creating a drydown that feels like a long, lingering embrace.
Cultural impact
Wearers often liken Cashmere to a quiet stroll along the Arno at dawn, noting its subtle green‑herbal opening and comforting vanilla finish; it has become a modest favorite among those seeking understated elegance without flash. Its subtle elegance has inspired numerous boutique retailers to feature it in curated spring collections, reinforcing its cultural resonance within contemporary Italian perfumery.
