Why it exists.
The beginning
Geza Schoen spent years working with synthetic aroma-molecules, learning ISO E Super intimately: a warm, woody, almost pheromonal molecule. The industry had always used it as invisible scaffolding, present in thousands of fragrances, never the point. But alone, on skin, ISO E Super did something different, something the industry had overlooked.
Schoen selected only ISO E Super. The decision was intentional: demonstrating what a single molecule could accomplish alone. In a world saturated with ingredient lists boasting dozens of naturals, Molecule 01 contains exactly one chemical. The philosophy centers on subtraction rather than addition.
The evolution
Molecule 01 is a single-molecule fragrance anchored entirely in ISO E Super. The scent journey begins the moment you spray, with the molecule present immediately upon application. As your skin receives it, warmth develops within seconds. That characteristic cedar-like quality that defines the signature emerges in the first hour and sustains throughout wear. Cultural impact
Before Molecule 01, no one had launched a fragrance consisting of a single synthetic molecule. No cover story of natural ingredients or named inspiration. It made the case that effect matters more than complexity, that intimacy beats projection, and that a molecule most people had never heard of could become a cult fragrance and spawn an entire brand.
