The beginning
Geza Schön recognized patchouli's deep cultural resonance. The note carries decades of bohemian associations, the sixties and seventies it came to define. He built Molecule 01 + Patchouli around a refined interpretation, combining patchouli with Iso E Super to create something distinct. The result is an elevated take on a classic note, presented with clarity and purpose. The fragrance invites wearers to experience patchouli anew, stripped of preconceptions and reimagined through a contemporary lens. Schön's approach treats the note with respect while revealing dimensions that conventional interpretations often overlook.
Two qualities of patchouli compose the heart, not one. Patchouli Coeur forms the largest portion, a soft, clean oil fraction with the camphor-like top note removed. An Indonesian patchouli rounds out the composition with just enough top note to add presence without heaviness. The camphor removal is deliberate and total. What remains reads as cool woodiness rather than damp earth. Then Iso E Super enters as the other half of the equation.
